What to do next
We have included a personal worksheet to help you weigh up points you may want to consider in making a decision about whether to start having screening mammograms.
You may want to:
start having a screening mammogram every two years;
have one now and decide in two years time whether to have another one (the benefits and harms are smaller for one mammogram than the numbers we have given for five mammograms); or
not have a screening mammogram now and reconsider in two years
not have a screening mammogram now and reconsider when 50 years old.
